About Foreign Bodies

Wendell Wrigley, a high school AP Calculus teacher living in Live Oak, Texas, has his life upended, one afternoon, when he is hit in the head by an errantly thrown football.

Upon recovering, he finds he can now only speak with a French accent -- a rare and

untreatable symptom of head trauma called Foreign Accent Syndrome. Although initially devastated by this condition, Wendell’s personality, along with his understanding of his place and purpose in the world, begins to change drastically.

This change confounds his wife, Winnie – a conservative and socially conscious woman – who is also in despair because their 22-year-old son, Tommy, has begun wearing women’s clothing.

As Winnie desperately attempts to regain her former life, Wendell realizes that it is Tommy who most needs his newfound approach to life.
